Extended ro-ro facilities in Klaipėda port

This summer Klaipeda (Lithuania) started operating a new ferry terminal Central Klaipėda Terminal (CKT). Customers immediately admit the new terminal benefits: fast service, easy access to the city, good infrastructure. Shipping Owners are happy to use special adjustable hydraulic heavy duty RoRo ramps, good vehicle and roro cargo preloading and storage areas, excellent conditions for ferry passengers in Passenger service and Office building. CKT terminal can accommodate 3 vessels simultaneously – RoRo, RoPax, ConRo, Cruise and other ships.
Despite today terminal is running with one regular line only (daily route Klaipeda – Karlshamn – operated by DFDS) during the year 2015 the terminal has handled about 800 thousand l.m. of roro cargo (more than 1 mln. tons).
As said by Director General of Klaipeda port – Klaipeda port being one of the biggest roro port is very important in RoRo business on Baltic Sea Easter coast. The establishment of JSC Central Klaipeda Terminal is highly important to most transport sectors as it acts as an additional intermodal pivot with a direct connection to the IXB corridor and the Klaipeda-Vilnius highway.
Extension of roro terminal in Klaipeda – it’s a new opportunities for new companies to start their service from/to Klaipeda port.
